Have you ever had a friend hold out on you about a secret spot? They surf it but then won't tell you where it is. What kind of a bro is that? Did you ever wonder if God does that? He knows something really amazing but doesn’t tell us. Or worse, He knows something really amazing but tells us we can’t take part in it. What kind of a God is that?
Those thoughts come from a total misunderstanding of who God is. In Psalm 84:11 it says, “For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless.” God loves to stoke us out, and in so doing He shows how rad He is. When He tells us something like intimacy outside of marriage is off limits, it’s not because He’s trying to ruin us but rather to protect us and give us the very best. Following Him means trusting him when He says He loves you. He has proven this time and time again to be true. However, it still comes down to trusting that He really isn’t holding out on us. I dare you to trust Him and live and surf for HIM.
