“There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.” Romans 3:10-12
For years the man argued with people about what color objects were. “It’s brown, I tell you” he would say. “I’m not blind, you know!” “No, it’s red” folks would reply. Great frustration filled his life b/c of the continual battle over colors. One day, in a visit to the doctor, he discovered he was colorblind. This truth reconciled the struggle in his life and replaced his tension with peace.
When God says this will bring you joy or that won’t bring you joy, do you argue with HIM? When God says your ultimate purpose is to glorify HIM by knowing HIM, not to surf, do you disagree? The solution is found in the diagnoses of our situation. We are sin blind – we don’t really know what it’s all about. And so, I can be comfortable when what God says doesn’t match what I feel or think or what seems so obvious to everyone. I can be quite confident that God is right and everyone is wrong. Now, the wise man takes action guided by what God says. So, where do you need to adjust your sight today?
Who do you surf for?
