What’s the big deal about being thankful?
You know how different lenses in sunglasses cause you to see everything in a different hue? Gratitude casts a different light on all of life. Being thankful brings out the deep colors of the real beauty of this life. More importantly, it reveals WHO we are to be thankful. Being thankful is an acknowledgment that God is good and right in how He is running the universe today. Thankfulness allows me to hold my baby boy a little longer before running off to type a devo. Thankfulness allows me to finish my surf session content and not needing one more wave. Thankfulness lets me enjoy where I live rather than planning my next upgrade. Thankfulness values God and lets Him be God rather than me correcting His sovereignty. Why not fast one day this week from grumbling, complaining, and negative speech and only be thankful? Try to say Thank You to God at least ten times today.
The saddest thing in life for an atheist is that ultimately they have no one to thank. But, a more grievous thing is for those of us who say we believe to not be thankful people.
